Approaching \"Island of Death\", so-named by my fellow climbers
Beginning my first climb, remembering to breathe and take it
Nearing the end of my first climb, it felt a long way up there!
Climb One: it was a hell of a long way up (and down) but I did it!
One of the more challenging climbs, here I am beginning the overhang with nothing between me and the coral sand beach 70 feet below
During the tricky overhang portion of the hardest climb, note my Vietnamese belayer Vu is just hanging there, with my life in the balance!
Hanging around: I didn\'t make it all the way past the overhang on the hardest climb, but no matter, it was exhilarating to make it as far as I did.
Back to earth: wonderfully thrilled and proud of my first-ever day of rock climbing.
